MODX Image Placeholders with holder.js

Nov 3, 2012

imageHERE: a new prototyping tool for MODX Revolution

The ease and flexibility of MODX templating makes it a viable prototyping tool - add simple markup and images in a basic layout to present clients with a working mock-up of the site design you're working on. Finding image placeholders can sometimes be an issue, although admittedly not a big issue with services like lorempixel.com and placekitten.com

But here's another option:

  1. Install imageHERE via Package Management in your MODX Revolution install.
  2. Use the imageHERE chunk to add customizable placeholders wherever you want.

That's a pretty small list of steps for customizable placeholders :)

Thanks

A big shout-out to Ivan Malopinsky for writing holder.js

All I did was integrate his work with MODX and package it using the Packman MODX Extra. So really, I did nothing :P

How to get it

imageHERE is currently up for review, to be added to the MODX Extras repo, and Package Management. **UPDATE: imageHERE has been accepted into the Repo! You can also download it from the Extras site: http://modx.com/extras/package/imagehere

Usage instructions are in the readme file and at the Official Documentation: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/imageHERE

Have fun! YAY MODX!
